How Erosion and Weathering Create Landforms
2016-02-16
Weathering is the breaking down of
rocks by physical or chemical processes.
a) Physical Action: The wind and water disintegrate the rocks
b) Chemical Action: acids in the water dissolve the rock into
smaller particles (Eg. Sinkholes)
Erosion is the wearing away of the
Earth’s surface by wind, water or glacial (ice) action. (Eg. Grand Canyon is an
example all 3 processes)
Types of Erosion:
a) Water Erosion
b) Ice Erosion
c) Wind Erosion
